I don't understand why an idea so large has followers that insist on keeping a their diety so small and regimented.

The things I know about my own personal connection to the universe of source of life is huge and free flowing.

I would never EVER choose to listen to someone speaking on behalf of "God?". One thing I can say for Christian religion in the U.S. is they do a very poor job of choosing spokesmodels.

My simple belief is availing your life to a source larger than you should open you up to the world, not close you off in in sanctimonious shadow boxes.

The whole "numbers" thing in your entry just muddles the simple nugget of having some sort of creator.

I think we have had so many generations of people in the U.S. raised on the concept that we can "think" ourselves into a spiritual existence. Which isn't true.

Our spirits already know. It is more like remembering than learning.

If someone has to have "PROOF" of anything they just need to look around and see that there is an undeniable force of creation happening every moment.

Put a Caladium bulb in the ground, which looks like poodle excrement. When those incredible leaves with pinks and greens appear its proof to me.

What ever the power is that can pull that beauty out of a bulb that looks like a poodle poo is enough God for me.

Not to sound too Hippy Dippy, the flow that runs through all of life, which brings forth into being is a creative force is all the deity I need.

Whether it is creating art, a blog, or a joke, when I have a part in bringing something into existence that wasn't there previously I am with GOD for lack of a bigger better word.

I have enjoyed your thoughts so much and I wish I had a contemplater, a thinker and a wordsmith in my circle of friends that could challenge and inspire me as much as some of the things you create here on your blog.

You see the "more" just beneath the "least" and that is really exciting because I do too.

I don't need to have a finite definition of "GOD", because I don't really need that to help identify who I am in the world and what is my place.

It's so much more simpler than humans want to make it. lol

I was going to write a relevant comment about this post, but quite frankly wasn't able to because of how awful this text area is.

This means of entering text is absolutely the most pathetic and frustrating user interface I have lately encountered. Seriously, did the person that made this not fucking test it out? You would have to be mentally absent to not realize how painful it is to use this thing.

Here is a list of things I cannot do:
- I cannot hit space twice.
- I cannot hit the arrow key. (seriously WTF)
- I cannot paste text.
- I need to have some BS account to post this.

Seriously, you'd have 500 comments if it weren't for how fucking awful this bullshit is. Notice the rage? BONUS: I choose an "AIM" name and it replaces space with "%20" and then says I have an invalid username. THIS IS EPIC HORSESHIT.

I agree with your point overall but plz. don't confuse a nummerical system with Math. As you say, math is a language, an very explicit language at it. Mathematical truths are the same regardless of the numerical system used as long as that system is consistent, i.e. it has to express the notion of 0 or no quantity. For example most complex math today is done only using symbols that represent values.

it saddens me that even in the civilized world there's some people that still question the existence of God (referring to the above commentors). science does not doubt the existence of God, it actually establishes His being, a higher power beyond all our comprehension and knowledge combined. even Einstein believe in God.

Why does the flip side of existence necessarily HAVE to be God? Surely the -1 could also be chance, evolution etc. To me, god is merely a manifestation of our lack of knowledge about the ins and outs of our existence.

For me, it doesn't really bother me if God (whatever that would be) exists or not. It bothers me when people tell me what he wants me to be like, how he wants me to behave. I still don't understand, since they say he's almighty, why doesn't he speak for himself? Why does he always have others speaking for him and so many times abusing his 'good' name?

From how I see reality, there's no higher power meddling in our earthly affairs. That leads to two possibilities: Either there is no higher power or there is one, but it doesn't meddle in our earthly affairs.

Just to play along for a second with the thesis ... a good question to ask is if our frame of reference, from a relativistic point of view, is but one of the many, and, perhaps, God is much like us and operating under the same laws of physics (and consciousness for that matter), but in a frame of reference that is beyond our comprehension and feeble attempts to analyze. However, since the laws of physics apply equally, everywhere, in his frame of reference, he's probably eating potato chips and chatting with his buddies online while infinite rheams of time happen within our univere's frame of referrence's CPU cycles. Opps! he's reaching for the power button. 5 trillion years later ... the universe expands to absolute zero; off until the next reboot. Let there be Light!
